Stop TB Partnership Nigeria reports that TB remains a leading cause of death in Nigeria, with 1.24 million global deaths in 2023. Nigeria ranks sixth globally and first in Africa for TB burden, recording approximately 467,000 cases in 2023 and one death every seven minutes. Low awareness, stigma, limited access to healthcare, funding gaps, and weak collaboration contribute to the problem. The theme for the 2025 World TB Day is “Yes! We Can End TB: Commit, Invest and Deliver,” highlighting the need for global action and investment. The Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare is intensifying efforts to strengthen TB services.
